The bracelet features three strands of Sterling Silver chain, a thick rope twist between two thinner serpentine chains. There is a slider that moves freely along the chains; it features a beautiful geometric shape with hand chased floral and geometric designs. The chains are capped with a scalloped piece, which connects to a row of wide cable links, from which the charms have been hung. There are seven charms that have been added to this bracelet at different times; a French 20 cent coin that was minted in 1854 and features Napoleon III, a drop charm that features six clear paste stones stacked in triangles above and below a larger pink paste stone, a 6 Pence Australian coin that was minted in 1912 and features George V and the Australian Crest. There is a twisted silver baton, a brass and glass compass, a gold washed die with hand chased details and pink, blue, green, and purple paste stones, and a silver disc with a star and blue enameled designs in the center with “this be your lucky star” written around the edge. The charms jingle together softly when worn. This beautiful charm bracelet can be customized however you desire; you can add your own charms or remove any of the existing ones as you please! Damage : Age appropriate wear. There are some paste stones missing from the die charm, your local jeweler can replace them or remove the charm if desired. This beautiful piece was made during a period called the Art Nouveau Era! This time was also called “La Belle Epoque” in French, which translates to A Beautiful Time. This was very true due to the gorgeous designs that came out of this period. The Art Nouveau period was famous for its flowing organic designs, flowing ladies, flowing floral designs, and regal designs. The chasing technique is a very difficult silversmith process when the artist uses a nail-like tool and hammer to hand etch patterns within the metal work. This process was very difficult and only the best jewelers were trained in the process. Coin jewelry has been in existence since coins were invented as a form of national currency. Many cultures from around the world would make coin jewelry as a means to store or display wealth. Coins also served as a souvenir for travelers to bring home after their excursions, and have made into wearable mementos of their trips, or as symbols of national pride.
